An avatar is your profile photo in the game. You can change your avatar by clicking on the settings menu, and then clicking "Edit Profile". If your game is connected to Facebook, your profile picture will be added as an option and exclusively available for you to use as well.

The more shops you unlock in the game, the more characters you can choose from! Every time you unlock a new character, your avatar will automatically update your account to reflect it.
